yah on my notebook, I just hibernate, I never restart, cuz it saves battery life...
and i don't close programs cuz i'm lazy. it's faster for windows to pull them outa the page file than to open 'em back up from scratch.
(i do want more ram though, but a 1 gig stick's like $300 CAD)
i don't have much concern for what my wallpaper is, cuz i never see it
and no i don't use a mouse on my notebook. I cruise around on the little touch pad quite fine
